Eclectisism and Wicca
Eclectic Wicca is the practice of adopting whatever works for an individual from any of the Wiccan traditions. The word "eclectic" means to select from a variety of sources. A person who holds to Eclectic Wicca can adopt rituals and ideas out of Dianic, Gardnerian, Druidic, or Alexandrian forms, combine them, and then use them to accomplish whatever is desired.
Furthermore, this means that they can adopt any deity or any religious system whether it be Zeus, Athena, Horus, Quetzalcoatl, Stirculius, Hermes, Brahman, Krishna, The Lord and/or Lady, Elementals, Ishtar, Thor, Apollo, etc.
Eclectic Wicca is that form where an individual adopts a mix of various Wiccan principles that he or she thinks are valid for his/her path.
Eclectic Wiccans affirm personal responsibility, communion with nature, and are generally not into structured Wiccan traditions. They want to know what works and how they can use it for their benefit.
Goddess Vesta
Roman goddess Vesta (her Greek name Hestia translates literally to "fire") was the Keeper of the Hearth and domestic life. In ancient times, she was the Goddess of the Vestal Virgins, a powerful group of noble women who tended her temple every day. To become a Vestal Virgin was the highest standard a woman could aspire to, the role representing wholesomeness, purity and health.
Her symbol of fire compliments the mesmerizing, enlightening and warming properties of fire that let us break free from the hustle and bustle of daily life for at least a short time.
